has gloss	slk: Ferocér (podľa niekorých zdrojov ferocer) je pyroforická ferozliatina. Obsahuje okolo 30 % železa, uhlík a hlavne cér. Cér má nízku zápalnú teplotu (150 až 180 °C). V spojení so železom vo ferozliatine získa potrebnú krehkosť. Výsledný materiál sa pri trení o drsný povrch drobí na jemné triesky, ktoré sa pri dostatočne rýchlom pohybe od tepelnej energie vytvorenej trením zapaľujú. Výsledkom je iskrenie, ktoré predurčuje ferocér na jeho použitie.
