| has gloss | glg: O ATong é unha lingua sino-tibetana, do grupo Bodo-Garo. O pobo atong vive no curso baixo do río Someswari ou Simsang, na India (nas Garo Hills, estado de Meghalaya) e en Bangladesh (distrito de Mymensingh). O dialecto falado en Bangladesh, denominado Ating, é significativamente diferente do da India. A última investigación sobre o número de falantes é de comezos do século XX, dando 15.000 falantes( 10.000 nas Garo Hills e 5.000 en Mymensingh). Algúns lingüístas afirman que o atong podería ser un dialecto da lingua Koch, e os aTong considéranse parte do pobo garo, a pesar de que o a'Tong non é comprensible para o resto dos garos.
