has gloss	eng: The Wesget Sipu clan is a Native American group of Micmacs and Malecites from the St. John Valley Area in northern Maine. The majority of the population of the Wesget Sipu (Fish River) people is a Native American tribe with families predominately located in the St. John Valley of Northern Maine. Family members are also located throughout the United States. The Wesget Sipu are descendants of Native Malicite and Micmac Indians who have historically inhabited the waterways of Northern Maine in the St. John Valley area. The native people became allies with the French Acadians who settled in the St. John Valley area. The alliance with the Acadians provided both parties protection from the British and created family relations. It is important to mention that there is debate as to the classififcation of the Wesget Sipu. Although the Wesget Sipu clan has applied for classification as a tribe it has not been granted. This is due to the Weget Sipu being classified as a clan (family) inhabiting the Fish River area and a subset of the malecites.
