has gloss	eng: NFA-LD is a form of competitive collegiate debate adapted from high school Lincoln-Douglas debate sponsored by the (United States) National Forensics Association; however, it is a policy-centered format as opposed to the value-based debate done in high school. It is intended to be a communication-oriented form of debate that emphasizes both the delivery and argumentation skills of participants. Judges are instructed to vote against debaters who speak too fast (although in practice such constraints are widely ignored).
