With the Fox Theatre, the Sheldon Concert Hall, and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra all nearby, it has been at times described as the second downtown of St. Louis. The Midtown neighborhood of the City is bounded by Olive Street and Delmar Boulevard to the north via North Compton Avenue and Chouteau Avenue to the south. To the east lies North and South Jefferson Avenue and to the west lies North and South Vandeventer Avenue.
