has glosseng: The Melikian-Ouzounian School, established in 1921, was the first Armenian School in Cyprus. It was named after two prominent families, Melikian and Ouzounian . Education was closely linked to the Armenian Church Notre Dame de Tyre. ‎ In 1963 the Melikian-Ouzounian School was taken over by the Turks after inter-communal fighting between the Greeks Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.
