Information
has glosseng: A lava channel is a pathway located in the middle of two lateral and closely spaced retaining walls in which a lava flow is constrained. The channel walls consist of solidified slabs of lava from the lava flow per se. As the lava flows though the channel, the elevation of the surface of the lava flow pulsates and lava can possibly flood the associated channel walls. This creates a layer of cooled lava to the channel walls, expanding their elevation and the capability in which they restrain the lava flow. The lava that flows in lava channels is commonly basaltic in composition.
